“Few novelists working now have a better grasp of early American history than Robson.”–Kirkus Reviews on Shadow Patriots

We’re fortunate, very fortunate.

We have some writer friends, quite a few of them, that are real artists. They bring us, and their other readers, glory, joy, and deep insight through their books. Plus, we have great times talking, joking, and having a glass of–some beverage or another–into the cozy hours that float between dark and dawn. That soft time when anything is possible and stories get bigger.

Lucia Robson is one of those people, a dear friend. If you haven’t read her books, give yourself a treat. Do it.

We offered everyone interested some writing tips, tips about how to get un-stuck. Lucia wrote to tell us one we’d forgotten, and here it is:

“Years ago Win gave me the best piece of writing advice I ever had.  ‘Always begin the story, The trouble started when…’ It’s been my mantra ever since.”

Considering the number of award-wining books Lucia has written, that’s wonderful news. And, we’ll have to remember it ourselves. Thanks, Loosh!
